Five Most Dropped Players: December 16-22
- Anthony Morrow (12.8 points, 1.8 three-pointers, 88.6% FT%): With Morrow expected to miss another week or two due to a strained hamstring, many fantasy owners have chosen to drop the sharpshooter. Since this isn't a major injury, it seems to be a mistake dropping a player who averages 34.1 minutes a game and is a great source of three-pointers and free throw percentage. We still have him rated within our top 100 even though he's missed the last four games. We recommend you scoop him up if he's available in your league. Our only concern is whether the newly acquired Sasha Vujacic eats into his minutes. We doubt that will happen, but it is something to look out for when Morrow gets healthy.
- George Hill (11.3 points, 1 three-pointer, 1.2 steals, 86.5% FT%): Hill is another player with a short term injury that fantasy owners are dumping. Hill is in our top 100 and should return shortly after Christmas. Pick him up if a foolish owner let him go.
- Joakim Noah (14 points, 11.7 rebounds, 1.6 blocks, 1.2 blocks): Noah is one of the top centers in the league, but he's going to be out a couple of months. Personally, we would grab him now as long as our team could remain competitive while he's out. In head-to-head and points formats, he'll be a huge help come playoff time when he'll be fully healed. In roto leagues, Joakim is a huge boost in nearly every category, particularly rebounds and blocks. It's not very often a top 40 caliber player is available in free agency.
- Landry Fields (10.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 51.4% FG%): We're not quite sure why team managers are dropping the rookie. He continues to do what he's done all season: score a few points, be a dominant rebounding guard, shoot well from the field, and give you a little something in every category. Fields is in our top 100 and should be owned in every league.
- Tayshaun Prince (14.1 points, 4.9 rebounds): Prince was one of the most added players in fantasy a few weeks ago when he dropped 31 points and followed it up with 30-point and 20-point games. Since then, the scoring numbers have cooled off a bit and we're guessing fantasy owners expected big nights from Tayshaun every time he stepped on the court. Prince rarely has huge games, but his value comes from his steady all-around production and his durability. He's missed few games in his career. He's just borderline rosterable in standard leagues right now, ranking outside our top 100 mainly due to poor free throw shooting. We recommend him for category-based leagues since he can give you a small boost in every category as long as you as you can handle the lower than average FT%. He may be on our most added list again soon as he put up a 28-point, 12-rebound, 8-assist, 3-block night in his last game.
