That relationship obviously wasn't good for either of them anyway. Did ya'll notice how both of them fell off and had embarrassing album flops last year? They were both successful multi-platinum selling artists prior to being all up under each other.
Supposedly Ashanti ended the relationship because Nelly wouldn't put a ring on it. I don't blame you girl. You ain't getting any younger and I know you ready to have some babies! Plus she stayed down, even through all of the humiliating moments he put her through. Nelly (and JD) have terrible strip club addictions that have led both of them to impregnating strippers all while being in their celebrity relationships. Everyone in Atlanta knows how they get down, and they're definitely not the only rappers that have gotten caught up in the Magic City dreamland.
