BHLDN decor goodness

A few of my favourites from BHLDN's new decor line! There has been a lot of images floating around the inter-webs these last few days but here are some of my favourites! Some good DIY inspiration on there.

BHLDN (pronounced Beholden) have their roots in Anthropology but are actually Urban Outfitters! Their gowns are to die for, really truly! As for the Urban Outfitters Australian online store - I barely liked a thing in it! Designing for a different demo I guess.

My Creative Space - Giant Paper Flower Wedding Bouquets

I made these giant paper flower bouquets for a local bride who found me through a friend of a friend! They were fun to make and I love the colours the bride chose. The girls were wearing a dusty pink dress and I think the grey would have looked stunning!

The tissue paper held it's shape well, I just hope it didn't rain - the wedding was on the Gold Coast! The brides flower was made from a crinkly tissue paper which was a lot firmer and I think I preferred the shape and look. I used gum tree sticks and lightly sanded the bumps and lumps off!! My brides dream wedding flowers were inspired by this bride!

Grab a cuppa and wander on over to Kirsty's for a creative feast!

The reaction video for that Borderlands proposal

OK, if you missed it when I posted it this morning, here's a very funny wedding proposal video Gearbox created for two fans of Borderlands:

And here's the actual proposal video:

Wedding proposal by video game character

Kotaku:
Ben reached out to Gearbox a while back, mentioning that when he and Tora first started dating, he had to give her "the gamer talk," in which he explained his hobby and the fact it might make him incommunicative and emotionally unavailable for hours at a time. Tora's response: "I love Borderlands! Let's play!"
The video's very funny.

Green Lantern and bride and groom Dunnys

I usually just post custom toys at Toycutter, but thought these deserved to be posted here, too:

Super Mario Bros. wedding celebration video

John Fabry turned a Mario Bros. level into a video tribute for his friends' wedding.

And speaking of Nintendo, don't forget to participate in this month's art contest - - Fix Nintendo 3DS's red screen of death.

More wedding details...

Hannah and Phil are two stylish, laid-back, beautiful people (inside and out) and they make a very handsome couple don't you think!? The wedding was held in a truly picturesque part of Brisbane and their photos should be amazing!

Hannah's sister was bridesmaid and wore a beautiful dress made from two vintage patterns! The fabric was a floral silk and looked stunning!

The adorable flowergirls with their equally adorable outfits! I followed them for a photo after seeing the girls pop over to the horse paddock across the road from the reception hall pictured below. There was a fabulous laid back vibe and I was loving the 'smart casual' dress code since I am not quite back into my normal clothes!!

While the bride and groom were off having photos, guests entertained themselves with a game of Boccie, Badminton, Croquet or some photo booth fun. Josiah sported a feather boa while I wore a mustache - can't wait to see those photos! he he

No detail was spared inside the hall and while my photos really don't do it justice, the place looked fabulous. MS Pom Pom's, fairy lights and rows of fresh flowers in cute mis-matched glass jars ran down the centres of the banquet-style tables.

These cute 'love in bloom' packet of seeds were the wedding favours set at each place setting - (possibly from Martha Stewart weddings?) along with the cute name tags I posted yesterday.

This photo also does not do the bride justice but I just wanted you to see more of her stunning dress, made from crushed organza and the bodice was beaded lace!

I love a good wedding and this was certainly one of my favourites!

If you know the bride and groom please don't link these photos to facebook or re-publish anywhere else on the web as the couple are quite private but I do have permission to post them on my blog :-)

A beautiful wedding...

A little while back I blogged about some beautiful engagement invites inspired by Eat Drink Chic, well here is a sneak peak at some of the lovely detail of that same couple's wedding. Aren't the invites fantastic! If you can't quite tell, you spin the outside circle around to get the information for each sub heading, i.e: ceremony, RSVP etc.. The name tags pictured below were tied around lovely white linen serviettes, reflecting the same style and detail of the invites. Just beautiful..

The weather was UNBELIEVABLE - leaving such cold weather here in Canberra to arrive in 26 degree heat in Brisbane was unreal. I had thrown my Birkenstocks in at the last minute, so off came the boots & socks back to bare feet the minute we got in the hire car. The wedding was amazing and I will post a few more details once I upload my photos and finish hanging copious amounts of laundry on the line! Taking a 3 month old baby to a wedding interstate was no small feat. I feel exhausted today but it was well worth the effort!

Birdcage Veils

I don't make many types of birdcage veils at the moment, mostly concentrating on the bandeau style which I like best! My lovely sister-in-law was visiting Australia for the weekend, so we drove to Sydney to see her and I took the opportunity to borrow her for a few product shots! Do you have a favourite?
