Born December 25th, 1987 in Brooklyn, New York, who would have known that Joseph Stevens, also Known to the world as Skolla, would make such a large impact on the rap game! The first word that comes to mind when you hear of Skolla's story is perseverance. Skolla realized he wantd to be in the music industry as a child when he used to hang out with the artist that his brothers Boss and Lucky use to work with. As he said "I use to spit little kiddie raps". Skolla first started writing when he was 12 years old, but gave writing a more serious thought when he was 14.
At the age of 15, Skolla dropped his first official mixtape hosted by South Carolina's own D.j Prince Ice entitled "On A Block Near You". A year later, he dropped yet another mixtape entitled "Welcome To Sumter City", this time hosted by South Carolina's own D.j Cleve of the So So Def Djs. At the age of 19, Skolla worked with the infamous D.j Speedracer of the Core Djs entitled "Call Me King". Skolla has worked in many places in order to further his career including Florida, Georgia, Chicago, Wisconsin, Las Vegas, North Dakota, New Jersey, New York, Minnesota and Canada. While touring Canada Skolla has done shows with Joe Buddens and Sean Paul just to name a few. Skolla Is currently working on his Debut album "Living Proof". He has proven that hard work and dedication does pays off. No doubt Skolla is "Living Proof" of how far you can go.
