Sonicsgate: Requiem For A Team

Here is a great movie (via YouTube) about how the city of Seattle got shafted by David Stern and other NBA brass. The movie has received critical acclaim and is considered one of the best sports documentaries of all-time.

After Undergoing Surgery, Antawn Jamison Likely Done for the Season

Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Antawn Jamison has undergone surgery to repair a broken finger. The surgery will require 5-7 weeks of healing, likely ending Jamison's 2010-11 season.

The Breakdown
Jamison should be dropped in seasonal leagues since the best case scenario is that he returns for the final few games of the season. With Cleveland hopelessly out of contention, it's highly unlikely Jamison plays again this year.

Fantasy owners will want to carefully monitor who soaks up Jamison's playing time. Samardo Samuels seems like the most likely candidate to move into the starting line up, though Semih Erden, Luke Harangody, and Ryan Hollins will also by vying for minutes. Whoever ends up benefiting from Jamison's injury could be a really nice pick up in deep leagues for the stretch run.

Tony Parker Expected to Miss 2-4 Weeks With Calf Strain

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker is expected to miss the next 2-4 weeks with a strained left calf muscle. He's expected to return in the second half of March.

The Breakdown
George Hill will benefit greatly from Parker's absence as he should step into the starting line up and see additional court time. Hill can contribute in nearly every category and makes for a great addition in standard formats.

Deeper leagues should consider Gary Neal and rookie James Anderson. Both should be in line for increased playing time as a result of Parker's injury. Anderson could be a really nice pick up if Neal, who's suffering the effects of a concussion, is forced to miss a few games.

Have you discovered Pinterest?

Oh my you will be hooked! Pinterest is a great place to collect all the fabulous images you see and want to remember or drool over daily on the web - virtual inspiration boards basically! I am slowly putting my boards together although my internet time feels more limited than ever these days - I know my google reader is groaning with inspiration begging to be read! I 'pinned' this stunning Hydrangea bouquet on my 'flower board' the other day from Mondo Floral Designs in Qld.

Mondo's work is gorgeous and they have a great real wedding diary for you to feast on - if you are getting hitched or just like flowers or weddings! I really like these bridesmaid dresses and in such a gorgeous shade of purple!

Best Dressed at the Oscars!

I watched the Oscars with James last night and I have to say that they were quite the snorefest compared to the Grammy's... Much less excitement aka. Lady Gaga arriving in an EGG... and although I did enjoy Anne Hathaway's numerous costume changes, James Franco and Anne Hathaway were awkward at times and not that funny. There are so many hilarious comedians out there who could have killed it... Tina Fey? Jimmy Fallon? ANYONE FUNNY and ENTERTAINING?! Whatever happened to the golden years of Billy Crystal or Steve Martin? Either way... I DO love the fashion! Here are some of my favorites:
PERFECTION! I absolutely adored Gwenyth's sleek silver Calvin Klein number with straight locks and the funky broach on her left. I also appreciated her candid answer on the red carpet claiming she hasn't slept for a week leading up to the Academy Awards. Too many stars try to play it "too cool" sometimes and she brought humility to the show last night.
LOVE LOVE LOVE!!!! My favorite look of the night. I LOVE her high pony tail, emerald jewels and classy choice of dress. Perfection!!! I am so doing my hair like this... If I can figure out how ;)
Do they have one in Andies size!!?! Feathers are so in right now... Leave it to Hilary Swank to rock it with those toned shoulders. Love how the dress fades into grey/black at the bottom.
Love this soft confection... Blush looks great on Halle and I love the taffeta bottom and ruffly top.
Va Va VOOM! How amazing does Jennifer Hudson look?! I love this bright color on her but her slightly lighter boobs do kind of stand out in this dress... Can't really say anything about it though.. LOVE her hair and accessories too!
I'm so torn on this dress... I love Amy Adams, sparkly things, this is my favorite color blue and her hair looks great. Maybe it is the emerald jewelry throwing me off? I would have just done chunky diamonds I think...
*YAWN* ... I just find this so BORING... Boring color, conservation shape, hair, jewelry etc... Meh!
I loved ALL of Anne's dresses during the ceremony... Most of them were by Valentino like this one. Super hot!
Classy... But kinda boring too. I would have put a ice encrusted necklace with it.
The back is definitely my favorite part of this dress... The mulberry color doesn't do the Oscars justice. Had it been bright red or blue I think it would have been a real hit.
I just adore Natalie Portman... She looks like a pregnant Goddess and I thought her acceptance speech for best actress was so heartfelt. You go girl!
Mila Kunis can do no wrong in my eyes. This lavender dress is super unique, sexy and elegant at the same time. I love the way the fabric is draped and the bra-like detail. She looks great in this color and I thought she rocked it.
Eek.... Nicole Kidman looks like a folded napkin. Who wants to ADD volume to their hips? I do love the a-mazing Henry Winston choker and pop of color in the shoes though.
New comer Jennifer Lawrence played it safe and rocked it... Super sexy and classy.
Hailee Steinfeld from "True Grit" designed this beautiful, age appropriate gown and I think she did great! I love the sheer bodice and beading. So girly and cute!
LOVE THIS DRESS! It's a work of art by Givenchy... So unique!

Most Added: February 28

These are the five most added players over the last week. Stats listed below are from the last 7 days.

  1. Ty Lawson (10.3 points, 7.7 assists, 3 steals): With Lawson taking over starting point guard duties in Denver, it's no surprise he's this week's most added player. Now seeing over 30 minutes a game, Lawson could be a good source of points, assists, and steals. It's still up in the air whether Raymond Felton will remain a reserve, though, so we'd continue monitoring Lawson over the next week.
  2. Greg Monroe (16.8 points, 12.8 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 58.8% FG%): Since returning from the All-Star break, Greg Monroe has been on fire. He's had a double-double in four straight games and scored a career-high 27 points during that stretch. Monroe is expected to log heavy minutes for the rest of the season as he's entrenched in Detroit's starting line up. He should be owned in most formats.
  3. Chris Kaman (12 points, 6 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, 51.2% FG%): Kaman is starting to round into form after returning from an ankle injury. While he's still coming off the bench, he's starting to play more minutes than starter DeAndre Jordan and should be back in the starting five shortly. We've seen his production improve game-by-game, just missing double-doubles in L.A.'s last two outings. Kaman is looking healthy and is a must own in leagues of all sizes.
  4. Kirk Hinrich (8 points, 1.5 three-pointers): Since being acquired by the Hawks, Hinrich has started slowly with his new team. He hasn't played big minutes yet and may need some time to adjust to his new teammates. But as the team's starting point guard, he'll have much more value than he did in Washington. Team's in need of another point guard should pick him up.
  5. Chase Budinger (18.8 points, 2 three-pointers, 5 rebounds, 51.1% FG%, 87.5% FT%): Budinger has gone from being owned in a handful of leagues to being one of the hottest adds. He's played very well over the last week and was recently promoted to Houston's starting five. He's a must own in deep leagues and worth strong consideration in standard formats.

Wisconsin Hoops Recap

As the season winds down, I think it's only fair that I give you both a Marquette wrap up and the Wisconsin wrap up because I know we have readers of each team and we don't talk enough Badgers.  I am just going to give you today, a paragraph or two thought on the game.

Marquette 86 Providence 62- I worried about this game somewhat because there was a potential for a letdown after upsetting UConn. I thought something that is worth noting is the play of Junior Cadougan and Chris Otule. Junior has assumed the role of point guard with his play in the last two weeks and finally felt confident to score on the offensive end. He had 10 points 10 dimes and 6 rebounds. If he starts doing that, Marquette will be really strong in the next month. Otule had 16 and 6 boards patrolling the inside. When Marquette has somewhat of an inside presence, teams have a tough time defending this squad

Wisconsin 78 Northwestern 63- The Badgers got probably one of their best nights out of Jon Leuer in the last month dropping 26 points and 6 rebounds. He played really strong all night, and that's what makes Bucky dangerous. One day it could be Leuer, the other day it could Jordan Taylor, both play at a very high level. It's a nice problem to have in the tournament.  Badgers shot nearly 60 percent getting very high efficient shots, and it basically took away the fact the Wildcats made 11 threes in the game.

First Taste; Oscar Winning Boston Movie

This is a pretty funny video making fun of all of the different movies that have been done in Boston. The Oscars were not good by any means. James Franco looked like he just inhale a ton of peyote every commercial break, Anne Hathaway wasn't funny... but hot so it was okay. The other good thing is I won 3 dollars on dollar bets with Nate Dawg.

DIY Doiley Lampshade

How very cool - instructions and photo courtesy of this lovely Sweedish blog! I have a mountain of lace doileys that might get put to good use after all!? Wall paper glue was used as the stiffener in this lampshade not starch - I guess it acted as a starch. I saw one of these for sale for $850!! yikes.

Cold Streaks: February 27

Five players that have been struggling over the last couple of weeks. Stats listed below are from the last 15 days.

  1. J.J. Hickson (14.3 points, 11.5 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 38.7% FG%, 50% FT%): Hickson is putting up great numbers aside from his percentages. He's been a poor shooter all season, but there's just no excuse for a big man who plays so close to the rim to be shooting below 40% from the field. Hickson owners need to be sure they can handle his poor shooting if they're going to keep him on their roster.
  2. Andrew Bogut (8.2 points, 11.7 rebounds, 2.5 blocks, 37.7% FG%, 40.9% FT%): Like Hickson, Bogut is putting up pretty good numbers aside from his percentages. Bogut, though, is playing through an elbow injury which is obviously hurting his shooting ability. It's being reported that the elbow will require surgery in the offseason. Since the injury is obviously affecting his performance, don't be surprised if the Bucks shut him down early if they fall completely out of the playoff picture.
  3. Raymond Felton (9.3 points, 8.5 assists, 30.6% FG%): The move to Denver has not been kind to Felton as he's gone completely cold from the field. He's still managed to see over 30 minutes a game even though he's coming off the bench, so we'd advise Felton owners to be patient as he adjusts to his new role. He'll likely continue seeing good minutes as head coach George Karl has gone with a small back court of Felton and Ty Lawson for stretches.
  4. Rashard Lewis (4.8 points, 1 three-pointer, 33% FG%, 50% FT%): Lewis is struggling with a right knee injury, which has limited his playing time and effectiveness of late. Because of the injury and the recent return of Josh Howard, Rashard could see his minutes limited for some time and possibly shut down for the rest of the season with Washington out of playoff contention. Fantasy owners in standard leagues will want to consider dropping him if the struggles persist.
  5. JaVale McGee (8 points, 7.4 rebounds, 0.9 blocks, 40% FT%): McGee hasn't been playing terribly, but his shooting numbers are down and his shot blocking has really fallen off of late. Those counting on McGee for blocks have to be really disappointed that's he's fallen below a block a game over the last couple of weeks. This should be just a slump, though, as he's getting his usual dose of minutes. We expect him to return to form in the coming weeks.

Eric Gordon Nearing Return From Wrist Injury

Los Angeles Clippers shooting guard Eric Gordon is very close to returning from a wrist fracture. He could be back as early as this Monday against the Sacramento Kings.

The Breakdown
Gordon owners who have been stashing him over the last month should prepare to get him back in the line up soon. Those that have picked up Randy Foye, who's played very well in Gordon's absence, should start looking for a replacement. Once Eric is back to full strength, Foye's value will be relegated to deep leagues.

Jeff Green Plays Just 18 Minutes in Celtics Debut

Boston Celtics newly acquired forward Jeff Green saw just 18 minutes of action in his debut, putting up 7 points, a rebound, and a block.

The Breakdown
It'll take a few games to see where Green fits in, but right now Boston is using Glen "Big Baby" Davis to close out games. If Green is unable to take over Davis' role after a few games, team managers may have to think about cutting him loose. Considering he was playing over 35 minutes a night in Oklahoma City and was just barely able to crack the top 100 of our player ratings, Green needs to see close to 30 minutes a night to have any hope of being a factor in standard leagues. Keep a close eye on him over the next 1-2 weeks.

As Expected, Chase Budinger Moves Into Rockets Starting Five

Houston Rockets swingman Chase Budinger has replaced the recently traded Shane Batter in the starting line up. He took advantage of his new role by putting up 27 points, 3 three-pointers, and 6 rebounds against the New Jersey Nets.

The Breakdown
Budinger is a must add in deep leagues and will be worth rostering in shallower formats if he continues to see 30+ minutes a night. Chase is a great source of points and threes, though he can also help out in rebounds and steals. Fantasy owners that could use a boost in those categories should consider making him a speculative pick up now.

Woman’s daily casual wear

Smart and formal clothes are easier, as big body size can be easily hidden under dresses and skirts. Women casual wear is the one way of getting such comforts. However besides the comfort, every woman wishes to look fashionable and keep up with the current fashion styles without looking loose and out of fashion. Wear shoes that are comfortable and appropriate for your outfit. Funky platform athletic shoes or straps sandals might be formal enough
