For the Home

I fell in love with this beautiful hanging shelf from Bride & Wolf as seen on Lara Cameron's (Ink & Spindle) home tour! I won't be getting it any time soon but a girl can dream.

I also saw this gorgeous hydrangea lamp made out of veneer by Sarah Foote! Each piece hand stamped, now that is a labour of love! Happy Hump Day! (middle of the week day, just in case you were wondering ;)

Friday Favourite - Palette Reading Bed

Photographer Ashley Ann has built the most enviable piece of re-purposed furniture I have ever seen! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it! I have been walking around our new suburb eyeing off all the pallet's and wondering what I could do with them, then I saw this post! Now to get my hands on a pallet.... and isn't the cluster of pom poms and lanterns gorgeous.

Decorating for the Boys

I have been working on breathing some life into Anya and Josiah's room for the last fortnight, very slowly I might add! I'm looking forward to sharing some photos as soon but in the meantime, here is some inspiration I found along the way. I adore this stunning boat made from recycled books and maps.

Also love this paper plane mobile made from old comics via The Brothers Trimm.

Gorgeous wallpaper from Fine Little Day designed by a very clever 8 year old called Otto Dunker.

Cool wooden whale cut out from Bride and Wolf. Or for something different, the son of one very clever artists does pet portraits! Of course all these ideas aren't just for the boys! But if you do have boys you must check out Dana & Rae's series called "Celebrate the Boy" - it is worth it. My little man needs some kid pants with big velcro knee pads :-) but that is a story for another time...

Clothing instead of Art

I'm a big fan of this but haven't tried it yet! How lovely is this dress belonging to Ruby from Cakies! I have a killer pair of heels that I always blab on about mounting on the wall because they hurt to wear but look so darn good. I wore them 'in' for the first time whilst running an event once - stupid!

This is a very sweet idea too and practical. One of my midwives gave me a fabulous tip about hanging up all the baby clothes in sizes so your bub will have less chance of not wearing an outfit at least once. I give baby coat hangers quite frequently.

A mix of simple, clean lines and more intricate detail in these bedrooms.

I don't like the colours in this one but like the interesting doors and love the walk in bathroom and big bathtub!

Love the simplicity of this bedroom, it looks very peaceful.

Perfect girlishness.

Sofas covers

A sofa cover adds brand new touch to your old sofa. As well it can update an older sofa by using a modern print or to protect a new sofa to prevent anything. A sofas covers you can see them in many different materials and styles and can be tailored to fit a sofa or can be a loose fitting cover. Using one of these covers to re-decorate a room is also a great option. Simply changing the look of your couch can give the entire room a lift

Modern and classic chairs

Modern furniture designs spreading widely these days than before.
Classic chairs are much simpler than the modern day styles and a little less streamlined. They were designed for practical reasons and not much thought was given to safety. Modern day one comes in several different styles but safety is the number one concern. A modern day style is designed with safety in mind and aesthetics second. Although they are still very attractive a tall chair is very practical.
