The Portland Tribune reports that Greg Oden, according to general manager Rich Cho, is able to run and is steadily recovering from knee surgery. Still, doctor's have not cleared Oden to participate in any basketball drills or workouts.
The Breakdown
If Oden is not ready to participate in training camp by the first week of October, it's highly doubtful he'll be ready for the season opener. Oden is already behind his rehab schedule, as he should have been playing basketball by mid-August. We'll continue to monitor Oden's progress, but it's looking more and more like he's not healing properly. With his injury history, he may be a player we have to avoid on draft day unless the news gets better by the start of camp.
