Ivy and Bird - Brisbane

Next time you visit Brisbane or New Farm specifically, make sure you pop into Ivy and Bird! A gorgeous little shop on Arthur street that was so inviting from the outside and inside didn't disappoint! The shop is filled with gorgeous goodies and the lovely owner Maria, gave great service with a smile.

Mostly handmade items from Brisbane & Tasmanian artists / mum-preneurs. Gorgeous fabrics for sale including Liberty of London (top shelf... literally).

My only disappointment was buying some Liberty of London hair pins for myself and then leaving them in the hire car :-( booo

Lovely new Resin Jewellery store on Etsy

Aren't these Sorbet Skinny Bangles divine! I found the beautiful Drift Gifts on Etsy over the weekend, with a lovely shop owner to boot - Louise is from Brisvegas, say no more :-)

This sweet little cloud brooch may just be floating my way!

I hope you had a good weekend we went to a little school fair on Saturday and cleaned up in the second hand book department, scored a few other great bargains and Anya tasted her first fairy floss! Fun to be had all round. Happy Monday!

French Flower Shop

Thanks to Oh Happy Day for the peak into this beautiful florist shop in France! I love that old work bench in the second photo. Most flowers look good grouped together with no cellophane and I love a rustic looking florist. Some days I walk past the florist and I am 16 all over again. What are your favourite flowers?

Liberty

I really have been thinking what is all the fuss about Liberty (fabrics) at $50AU p/m? Then after seeing Gret's fab brooches and running my hand through a roll at my favourite local fabric store, I had a proper look at their fabric range the other day - hmmmmm - I could be converted :-) The first image is my favourite fabric. I didn't realise Liberty did a whole range of other things too!

Loving this sample pack my cousin picked up at a gorgeous store in Sydney. Are you a Liberty fabric fan?

Decor from Decoylab

Hello world we are back! I hope you had a lovely break ready for the challenges and fun times that 2011 might bring. Some fun items from Decoylab that I found via Mskat (otherwise known as Amanda).

I particularly like this wish list clipboard - pass it around the family for birthday and Christmas lists then hang in a common area for all to have a big eye. No excuses for not knowing what you want!

Donna Hay Online store

Donna Hay has a new online store! Some lovely goodies there for those of us that have never made it to the bricks and mortar shop. The waxy straws above are hard to find or buy at a decent price in Australia, just like those darn stripey paper straws! I think $10 for 40 is pretty good considering one local online store charges $12 for shipping paper straws!

I had to show a few photos of the actual shop in Woollahra it looks divine - just the kind of place I would like to visit after brunch out. I'd love to know your experience there if you have been lucky enough to visit the Woollahra store?

All photos courtesy of Donna Hay.

Scandi style

These cute Scandi bookends and tree come from Peters of Kensington. What don't they sell now!!?? I always thought they were a kitchen shop. Seriously, you could spend a while there and they seem like genuine bargains? I found these under Homewares > furnishings.

Notebook love...

I love to write lists and I love a good notebook! These gorgeous books are from Oh Joy. These designs make me want to do some paper-cuts, hand-carved stamps and fabric printing!!!! Stationery makes me a bit giddy!

I am collecting a few nice leather notebooks to write journals for Anya and the new bub. I started Anya's when she was a baby - it is filled with random facts about myself, things about her, my thoughts, dreams and feelings for each other. It was something I wanted to do so she could 'know' me on a deeper level. I intend on handing them over when she is either a teenager or at some age she would actually appreciate them! I hope I can keep up with two books for two kids!!!

How awesome is this envelope?! How would you LOVE to receive some snail mail in that gorgeous package? Yes please...

Another beautiful place to shop

I discovered another lovely store via Decor8, called Cox and Cox. It is in the UK and they do ship internationally. Since I have had weddings on the brain lately - here are a few cute finds for wedding favours or decoration. A great source of inspiration for some wedding DIY too.... errr except maybe not the sugar cubes :-)

This is wedding table trivia - if you are keen to get your tables interacting!

These signs are fab and could be used for any sort of party!

Enjoy browsing!!!

Dreaming of having my body back

I am really not carrying as big with this baby as I did with Anya but all the same I am looking forward to being back in my normal clothes!!! So I went window shopping on Anthro! I am not really one for patterns and I like to feel comfy.... there is a big lean toward casual here....

and then something for date night somewhere nice....

More Fabulous Finds - Doug Up On Bourke

A few more of my favourites from Doug Up On Bourke but a few more in metal this time. This really is my new favourite shop!

I have a thing for cabinets - have you noticed?

Either of these would look cool just inside the doorway of my new place - somewhere to put your keys and mail and telephone!

These are just cool!

Ahhh dreaming of lovely pieces to fill a truck! I enquired about a rough price on cabinets and they got back to me straight away and also recommended I come and look as they have too much to put on the website! *giddy* I have often whinged about Australia's lack of proper vintage / flea market shopping opportunities - but I think these guys have satisfied my cravings.
